This was the absolutely epic brunch that I made for myself yesterday. Everything is organic, super delicious and so so sweet and juicy. WOW. I know you want some :p I got all of this amazing fruit from my favourite wholesaler – Sunseed Organics in Bristol.
On the left there is 12 blood oranges. Look at all of the amazing colours, they are so pretty! On the plate on the right I had 3 pomegranates, one punnet of blueberries and about half a kilo of grapes. This is by far the best meal I have had this week. I think it is super important to spend time creating beautiful dishes of food for yourself – create a feast for all of the senses to enjoy. I love to treat myself to amazing and beautiful meals because I am worth the effort 🙂 Why only create amazing dishes when you have company?!
What have you guys been eating this week? What has been the best meal you have had this week?
I want to thank Vanessa from BURN BRIGHT for nominating me for the Liebster Award again 😀 It really means so much to me and I adore your blog lady 😀 Thank you. I have already participated so I will answer Vanessa’s questions as they are super fun!
1. Who is the biggest influence in your life, and why?
The biggest influence in my life is probably my best friend Debbie. I have a really strong connection with her and she is the most amazing friend I have ever had. She always wants the best for me, she drives me to strive for bigger and better things and she always makes me want to be the best version of myself. She influences me a lot in very positive ways and I miss her every day (she moved to America to marry her love ♥).
2. If you could sing one song, and sing it incredibly well, what would it be?
This is where I wish I was a more musical person. This is a weird choice but I’ll go with Carol King – Where You Lead. Why? The Gilmore Girls! What more can I say?! I practically grew up with Rory and Lorelai.
3. What do you most want to learn how to do before you die?
There are so many things I want to learn, but if I had to pick one… Surf. I would really love to be able to surf. My dad used to take us to watch people surfing when we were kids and I always thought it looked super cool. One of my all time fave films is Point Break – lots of pretty sweet surfing in that. I guess it kind of scares me too. I love the ocean but I am also secretly scared of it too.
4. What is your most prized childhood memory?
Sailing with my dad and grandma. We once sailed all day up the coast with my dad and my grandma. My grandma had this funny waterproof sun hat on. We had the best time – it took all day to sail to Scarborough and I think we had fish and chips when we finally arrived. I remember my grandma being very relaxed and she looked really beautiful.
5. What’s your favorite meal to make, and your favorite meal to be served?
This is going to sound pretty studenty – my favourite meal to be served is gluten free pasta with tomato and garlic sauce. If you’re going to make it for me make sure you give me half a bag of pasta – don’t go messing around with any of that 100g serving nonsense! My favourite meal to make is smoothies. Obviously!
6. Describe your perfect day.
My perfect day would start with a crisp morning. I would roll out of bed. Pull on my running stuff. I would go for a run and it would feel so free and easy, I would see lots of interesting wildlife. On returning home I would have an epic platter of perfectly ripe honey mangoes. I would then gather all of my favourite people and we would pack a huge hamper of juice, fruit and salads. The weather outside would be somewhat tropical. We would all go to a beautiful lake where we would swim, play and frolick around all day until we were thoroughly exhausted. At night we would build a camp fire which we would sing, eat and dance naked around. Then we would all sleep in hammocks. As I was dozing off I would wonder if this perfect day had been real or just a figment of my imagination.
7. What was your last dream about?
I will tell you about a funny dream I had not my last dream! I recently dreamt that I was at a family function and the man god that is Anton Krupicka turned up for some reason (um, hello, because it was my dream!). I have an insane crush on this man in real life. In my dream however he introduced himself to me and I turned into this very strange socially awkward person. I was literally starstruck by him and I acted like a buffoon! He quickly lost interest in me and went to converse with some of my cousins. I remember thinking ‘noooooo! I am not a weirdo, come back’ but it was too late. That was a pretty weird dream!
8. Why did you start blogging?
Honestly, because when I found 80/10/10 I knew I had found something special and I wanted to help to spread the message about it. I also feel like I have a lot of positivity and good vibes to share.
9. What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever done on purpose (skydiving, asking your crush out, etc.)?
Probably the naked bike ride I guess. I had the best time though and I want to do another this year!
10. What’s the one question you would never want to answer honestly?
What my last dream was about 😛
Thanks again Vanessa! Make sure you go and check out her blog 🙂
I hope you are all happy and healthy.
Hugs and love,
