Superfood Salad

Pomegranate Salad Pomegranate SaladYummm. This is what I have just had for dinner.

Is it making you hungry?!

In my salad, I had the following;

  • Mixed salad leaves from Shumei
  • Pomegranate
  • Clementine
  • Avocado

In the small bowl I have half a kilo of boiled potatoes with a little vegan pesto to tart them up a bit.

This was a super simple really delicious meal. I love simple foods made with really amazing, ripe and fresh ingredients. It is what makes me happy! I also wanted to let you know that I do not just make my dinner pretty for your benefit (though I do love sharing with you!). I make my dinner look pretty for me. Even when I eat alone I love to make my dinner look fantastic. Well, it as they say, it is the small things in life that count! I always find eating so much more pleasurable if it is aesthetically pleasing as well as being god damn delicious!

In the bottle I have some organic tart cherry juice. I have been losing a little sleep recently and my friend recommended I take tart cherry juice to help me sleep. Hopefully I will be snoozing like a baby tonight! If you are feeling a bit sciency I have heard that the cherry juice increases the amount of melatonin in your body which helps you to sleep better. The fact that my boyfriend is smashing it on the drums tonight is kind of hindering me from relaxing right now! I shall let you know how the cherry juice goes. It is pretty delicious stuff – it literally tastes like posh jam 😀

In other news, I went for my first long distance barefoot run this weekend. I have dabbled with barefoot sprinting before this summer. This weekend however I went with my friend, completely in our naked feet, as nature intended and we ran at a steady pace for about 4 miles. It was cold at first, but then it began to feel really good. The very fine line between pain and pleasure. After a little while however, every step felt like a little massage from the earth 🙂 We finished feeling refreshed, grounded and pretty darn hungry (I was anyway!). I will definitely try barefoot again, it is so much more freeing than wearing five fingers.

  1. Yes it does look delicious. Funny about you running barefoot as I was just listening to a video on YouTube that Meggan Elizabeth had put on about grounding and the benefits of going barefoot or having a grounding sheet to sleep on. I had never even heard of a grounding sheet before! Sham x

    • Hey Sham!! I watched that video too and it made sense to me 🙂 My friend who is a healer has also been telling me about the benefits of grounding and I really think it is important. Hope you are well Sham xxx
